Last updated: 10 October 2026

This policy explains how ABP UK collects, uses and protects your personal information when you use our website, place an order or get in touch with us. We are committed to handling your information in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Who we are

This website is run by [Company name], trading as ABP UK, a company registered in England and Wales under company number [company number], with its registered office at [registered address]. We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy.

If you have any questions about this policy or your information, email us at AbpInfo@protonmail.com or write to us at the address above.

Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Orders and accounts: your name, billing and delivery address, email address, phone number, account login details and order history.
  • Research-use declaration: confirmation that products are for laboratory research use only, and the date and time you gave it at checkout.
  • Payments: we accept bank transfer, so we see the payment details your bank sends with the transfer, such as the account name and reference. We do not receive or store card details.
  • Messages: anything you send us through our contact form, by email or on WhatsApp. Contact form messages are stored with the date and the IP address they were sent from.
  • Newsletter: your email address and name, if you sign up.
  • Loyalty points: the points you earn and redeem with your account.

Information we collect automatically

  • Technical information: your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, as recorded in our server logs.
  • Cookies and browser storage: see “Cookies” below.

How we use your information

Under data protection law we must have a lawful basis for using your information. We use it:

  • To process and deliver your orders, manage your account, take payment and send you order updates. This is necessary to perform our contract with you.
  • To keep records of sales and transactions, as required by law (for example, for tax and accounting purposes).
  • To answer your enquiries and provide customer service. This is in our legitimate interests, or necessary to perform our contract with you.
  • To keep a record of your research-use declaration, which is in our legitimate interests in making sure our products are supplied only for research.
  • To keep our website secure and prevent spam, fraud and misuse, for example by temporarily limiting how many messages or sign-ups can be sent from one IP address. This is in our legitimate interests.
  • To run our loyalty scheme, which is part of our contract with you when you have an account.
  • To send you our newsletter, with your consent. We ask you to confirm your email address before we add you, and every newsletter has a link to unsubscribe.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for automated decision-making that has legal or similarly significant effects on you.

Who we share it with

We only share your information where we need to, with:

  • delivery companies, so they can deliver your order;
  • our website hosting and email service providers, who store and send information on our behalf;
  • WhatsApp (Meta), if you choose to contact us or order through WhatsApp; their own privacy policy applies to messages sent on their service;
  • our professional advisers, such as accountants and lawyers, where necessary;
  • the police, regulators or other authorities, where we are required to by law.

Our service providers may only use your information to provide their services to us. Where any of them are based outside the UK, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or an adequacy decision.

How long we keep it

  • Order records are kept for six years from the end of the financial year they relate to, to meet our legal and tax obligations.
  • Account information is kept until you ask us to close your account, apart from order records we must keep.
  • Messages are kept for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry, and then deleted.
  • Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe.
  • IP addresses used for spam prevention are kept for no more than 10 minutes.

Cookies

Cookies are small files stored on your device. We only use cookies that are needed for the website to work:

  • Cart and session cookies (such as woocommerce_cart_hash, woocommerce_items_in_cart and wp_woocommerce_session_) remember what is in your cart.
  • Age confirmation cookie (abp_age_verified) remembers that you have confirmed you are 18 or over, so you are not asked again. It lasts until you close your browser.
  • Login cookies (such as wordpress_logged_in_) keep you signed in to your account.

Our protocol builder saves your plan in your browser’s local storage so it is still there when you come back. It stays on your device and is not sent to us unless you add the products to your cart.

We do not currently use analytics or advertising cookies. If that changes, we will update this policy and ask for your consent first.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
  • ask us to delete your information, where we no longer have a reason to keep it;
  • ask us to restrict how we use your information, or object to us using it;
  • ask us to transfer your information to another organisation;
  • withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on consent (for example, by unsubscribing from our newsletter).

To use any of these rights, email us at AbpInfo@protonmail.com. We will respond within one month. There is usually no charge.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Keeping your information secure

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections to our website and restricted access to our systems. No method of sending information over the internet is completely secure, but we take care to protect what you share with us.

Children

Our website and products are not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information about children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated at the top.
